I've been to dinner shows all over and my experience with Pirates left a lot to be desired. The show itself was fair, though included a lot of stuff that had nothing to do with pirates. Dinner was what gave this place only half a star. The salad tasted like something they got out of my back yard. Dinner was chicken, with beef or shrimp, but no matter what you were stuck getting chicken like it or not. Was not given a choice of rice or potatoes, you get what you are given. The potatoes were pretty much tasteless, my partner got the rice and it was not much better. I can't comment on the appetizer buffet, due to traffic in LA, we arrived there at 7:15 and it had already been put away though a lot arrived late due to traffic and the show did not start at 7:30 as advertised but almost 8pm. We were given a choice of drinks, coke, sprite, diet coke or beer or wine or water. Being a diabetic left me pretty much with water. I was also surprised that they didn't offer anything healthier for the children present. We also paid the extra $20 for "captain's" seats which consisted of being stuck over in the right corner, behind posts and pillars and such which limited our vision and the third row up. Would have been better to not have paid it, been up higher, but in an area that we could see. Audience participation was very limited unless it happened to be your birthday. All in all I was very disappointed both in the dinner and the seating. It definitely was not worth the $120 we paid to see it. Would have been much better off going across the street to the Outback or down the street to Medieval Times.
