By popular demand, The Raconteurs have added a second date at the Greek Theatre. The additional date will be on Tuesday, September 23. Tickets go on sale Saturday, July 12 at 10 AM. When The Raconteurs announced news of their debut album in early 2006,they described themselves as “a new band made up of old friends.” The four members, Brendan Benson , Patrick Keeler , Jack “LJ” Lawrence and Jack White, were all established in their own right; Brendan as a solo artist, Patrick & LJ as the rhythm section of The Greenhornes and Jack as one half of The White Stripes. Released in May 2006, Broken Boy Soldiers was a critical and commercial success. The album’s first single “ Steady, As She Goes ” became a monster radio hit. The album charted at #7 in the Billboard Charts and #2 in the UK’s Album Charts, where it was Mojo Magazine’s Album of The Year. Rolling Stone proclaimed, “Expectations were sky-high, but The Raconteurs exceed them all,” and the band won the title of “Best New Artist” in their annual Readers Poll. The creative spark for their second album, Consolers of the Lonely, was ignited during the time the band spent touring in 2006. With Consolers of the Lonely completed and mastered at the beginning of March, the band plotted a way to unleash it. Keen to have fans hear it as soon as possible, the band made it available immediately, forgoing any pre-release publicity or marketing and it has been met with both fan and critical acclaim. The New York Times said, “ The Raconteurs are singing, more often than not, about desperate characters. But that desperation only makes the crunch of the music more euphoric.”

The Raconteurs blew the roof off the Greek Last night .....wait there is no roof at the Greek .. They just rocked then rocked some more.
I hereby dub them kings of the Power Chunk craze that started to creep into the music scene a few years ago and now is ruled mightly by The Racontuers.
With an album like Consolers of the Lonely and Live Performances like the shows at the Greek is it possible the White Strips could be considered the side project.
Whoever gets top billing just please keep the music playing.
As an opener the Kills set the mood and converted more then a few fans with a set that was more like a pasta course than appetizer. They commanded the stage and the audience better than most bands with 4 or 5 players - Alison Mosshart proved you can be sexy and rock peoples socks off with vox - with or without a guitar
