Kids have a fun day creating fantastic foods! There are 2 different hands-on cooking workshops leading up to a Jr. Iron Chef Competition on 11/1/08. Open to 10-15 yr olds.
Our experienced chefs and staff will teach the students knife skills, menu planning, food handling and cooking techniques. This is a hands-on cooking class. They will learn how to be creative with what’s in the kitchen - utilizing fresh herbs, learning spice combinations, and proper food combinations. It promises to be a fun day creating fantastic foods, such as fresh pasta with sauce variations; marinades and rubs to make flavorful dishes; exciting new vegetable recipes; and incredibly delicious desserts!! These two workshops are designed to prepare our contestants for the Junior Iron Chef Competition – but they are open to anyone ages 10 to 15! You may sign up for one class or both classes. There will be different recipes prepared each session. All students will receive a recipe booklet with the recipes to try at home.
