The fundraiser benefits the Southern California Institute of Architecture Alumni Association's Student Scholarship and outreach activities.
Since its debut in 2000, the SCI A3 annual fundraiser – known as Main Event – has grown to become a highly anticipated and fun affair among the SCI-Arc community of alumni, students, faculty, board of directors, staff and constituents. The highlight of this event is its auction that features work from renowned architects and up and coming designers. Thanks to contributions to this auction over the years, we have provided deserving students with much-needed scholarships. To that end, this year's auction will be an interpretation of the event's theme, "dueling CHIRALITIES".
Over 300 guests from the visionary community of architecture and design will come together for Main Event 7 on Saturday, November 8th from 7-11pm at the historic Farmers & Merchants Bank in Downtown Los Angeles. The Alumni Association will honor alumni Hitoshi Abe (M.Arch2 '89) and Kiyokazu Arai (M.Arch '83) in recognition of their contributions and advancements in the architecture and design field. Your design will be framed and exhibited along with our distinguished alumni honorees and others from the worldwide architectural and art communities - such as Eric Owen Moss, Stanley Tigerman, Michael Rotondi, Hernan Diaz-Alonso, Hsin-Ming Fung, Chris Genik and Michael Rotondi – for auction at Main Event 7.
