After rave reviews of excerpts from Miss India America (MIA) at In the Works in March 2007, and three sold out preview performances in March 2008 at the Highways Performance Space, MIA - the ugly death of a California beauty queen, will open at ACME Comedy Theatre on October 16th and run through November 12th.
Meera Simhan, writer/performer/actress will star in this one-woman performance about a comically tragic coming-of-age story of growing up as a ‘good’ little Indian girl in Orange County, CA. Simhan has enjoyed recurring roles on House, Nip/Tuck, Invasion and The District along with guest starring roles this season on Heroes and NUMB3RS. She recently starred as Linda in the box-office hit Date Movie, a romantic comedy spoof by the Aaron Seltzer/Jason Friedberg team.
