What the heck is a 'screwball spelling bee fundraiser,' you ask? It is where adults form teams prior to the competition, raise as much money in pledges as they can, and then compete in a spelling bee tournament where the "judges" are improv comedy actors and the competitors are treated like 7th graders. The spelling bee turns into a hilarious show where the teams attempt to beat their competition by using "cheats," which are bought through their pledges raised prior to the competition.
