Droog’s fifth rooftop Culprit session brings you the ‘Best of British’, a visit from Fabric resident and published academic, Ewan Pearson, who’ll be joined by recent LA transplant and Crosstown Rebels head honcho Damian Lazarus.
Ewan Pearson has been making records for a living since 1998. A graduate of Cambridge University and co-author of the highly influential book ‘Discographies’, Pearson has also found time to rack up a hugely impressive music career. He has recorded as Maas for Soma, and under a number of other guises including World of Apples and Partial Arts for Cologne's legendary Kompakt label. His remixes for the likes of Depeche Mode, Chemical Brothers, The Rapture, Cortney Tidwell and Freeform 5 have made him one of dance music’s most respected producers and he has commanded attention beyond the dance music world, working with Goldfrapp and Gwen Stefani. His Fabric 35 mix earned him a Plug award and his Resident Advisor podcast was voted best of the year by listeners.
Damian Lazarus, fresh from his rocking live performance at Avalon, returns to the more familiar environs of the DJ booth for this Standard set. The LA transplant needs little introduction to anyone who has been following cutting edge dance music, from his trend-setting Crosstown Rebels label to his legendary Get Lost party series and his critically acclaimed monthly podcast series Lazpod (www.lazpod.com <http://www.lazpod.com> ), Lazarus has his finger firmly on the pulse of what you should be listening to. Together with Pearson, this pair is definitely the best of British.
