Carly Rae Jepsen

Her father used to sing her to sleep with James Taylor songs. Influences include Ella Fitzgerald and Van Morrison. Played with a high-school jazz band while in elementary school. Performed in high-school musicals, playing Dorothy in The Wiz and Sandy in Grease. Covered a Janis Ian song during her Canadian Idol audition. Placed third in the 2007 Canadian Idol TV series. Nominated for Best New Artist and Songwriter of the Year in the 2010 Juno Awards. ~ Rovi
