As a child, his parents owned the local pub.Was a child actor starting on British television, appeared in the children’s series Here Come The Double Deckers (1970).Took weekend classes at the Bradford Playhouse and he left school at the age of 16 to pursue a career in acting.In 1973, long before Daniel Radcliffe, he portrayed the horse-mutilating stable boy Arthur Strang in Peter Shaffer's Equus on stage at the Old Vic, London. ~ Rovi
