Matthew J. Vargo

Matthew is happy to return to Musical Theatre West after playing George in last season’s THE WEDDING SINGER. He has lived in New York for the past several years where he performed on Broadway in Alan Menken’s original cast of A CHRISTMAS CAROL, and CATS (longest running show and final cast). He was seen in the National Tour of Mel Brooks’ YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN understudying the role of Igor, for which he did perform to roars of laughter. Other National Tour credits include THE PRODUCERS (Carmen Ghia… Show more understudy) and the revival production of KISS ME, KATE (Gremio, a suitor). Matthew’s career started as a performer at Disneyland, CA and has taken him all across the country as well as Japan, Brazil & Argentina to name a few. He has been a dance captain, swing, understudy, choreographer and director. Matthew has been a proud member of Actors’ Equity since 1988, The Screen Actors Guild (SAG) and the Society for Directors and Choreographers (SDC).
